Solo, a famous British rapper: from fame to prison

London, UK: A British court on Thursday imprisoned a fast-rising rap artist for 24 years who was found guilty of sexually raping and abusing four women he had taken against their will.
Before he was arrested in 2017, Andy Anokye was known by his stage name Solo 45 and had worked with stars including Wiley and Stormzy.

The 33-year-old has been convicted by a court in Bristol 's southwest region of 21 assaults and five counts of false imprisonment.

In sentencing Judge William Hart told Anokye that the rapper had "become addicted" to "perverted gratification."

"You were part of a well-known group — Kid Pater-Nou. Great success has been accomplished by the fellow artists from that group," the judge said.
"We are in no way tarnished by your privately committed misdeeds."
The appointed authority said that none of different individuals from Kid Pater-Nou "didn't have the foggiest idea about your clouded side and are not tainted at all with your terrible activities that were done in a private and concealed way," as per the Related Press.

The grime group had musicians known as Jme and Skepta formed in London.

The Guardian newspaper said one of the victims of Anokye claimed she had been water-boarded.

"He put me on the bed and placed a flannel over my face and poured over it a bottle of water that made me feel like I was drowning,"
she said.

Another said she was stabbed in the thigh and held at knife point.
